Briogeo hair care favorites

Updated: Mar 15, 2021

Back in January I had the pleasure of working with the Briogeo team for the launch of their Don't Despair Repair! strengthening treatment oil. It was a great day of work and such a lovely team to work with. They were so generous and gifted me some products that would cater to my hair type. After trying them out for a few months, I am here to share my favorites.

A blow out balm or leave in conditioner are my go to products after washing my hair. My hair is naturally very curly, but I always blow it out smooth and straight. I like to have a product that will aide in the blow out process and also nourish my hair.

The Farewell Frizz blow dry perfection & heat protectant creme is targeted for clients who have dry, frizzy hair or who utilize heat styling. It is also safe to use on hair that has been chemically treated ( Color, keratins etc.) This cream contains of blend of rose hip, argan and coconut oils to reduce frizz and leave hair appearing smooth and shiny.

After a few months of use, I must say I really enjoyed this product. For starters it has an incredible smell, which is always a bonus. The formula was not heavy or weighed down my hair and most importantly, did not make it get greasy instantly. Some times I find with products it makes my hair texture too soft and flat, to the point where it cant hold any shape. I did not have those issues with this product. It made my hair feel and look hydrated and nourished, with heat styling throughout the whole week. As for the frizz factor, we all know humidity is the enemy. In humid weather conditions, my smooth blow out just completely disobeys and immediately reverts back to its curly texture. Full on finger in the socket hair. However, with this product I noticed my baby hairs will curl up a bit, but over all, my heat styled hair stays put. Which is all a girl can ask for. For my hair type personally, this product checks off all the boxes. Definitely worth looking into.

My experience as a hair stylist and working in a salon, I have only encountered a few root powder products. To be completely transparent, I found them to be annoying and messy. I have always had better experiences with canned/ aerosol hair products. Setting all previous experience aside, I wanted to give this product a fair shot.

Blossom and Boom ginseng & biotin volumizing root powder caters to those with fine, thin or limp hair. This powder contains mineral derived silica and maltodextrin, ginger, ginseng and biotin. The silica and maltodextrin are a natural corn starch that lifts hair without a sticky texture. The addition of the ginger, ginseng and biotin promote healthy hair and scalp.

I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this product. I typically blow dry and style my hair in loose beach waves ( so basic I know, but hey its trendy and looks good). I am a big fan of dry texture sprays, but replaced that with this root powder. I sprinkled this in my roots and also on my hand to apply to waves. It gave the most AMAZING texture and body. The product did not make my hair feel heavy or leave my hair feeling "dirty". I absolutely hate when I use a styling product and feel like I have to wash my hair after. I also want to acknowledge the packaging, which I believe makes the product better. For starters, it has a twist off cap, eliminates fear of the product spilling ( if you travel often or for my fellow pro artists). It also has a plastic sieve, which makes dispersing the product SO much easier. Products I have used in the past did not have this feature and its a disaster. All in all, very pleased with the performance of this product, it even has made its way into my pro kit!

Who doesn't love a good deep conditioner? A nice hair mask is the perfect addition to anyones self care routine.

Don't Despair, Repair! deep conditioning mask is an intensive treatment that restores essential hydration to hair that is dry, chemically treated or lifeless. This deep conditioning mask will even help protect against future damage to the hair. The formula is an enriching blend of rose hip, sweet almond and argan oils with the addition of vitamin B5 and biotin.

I typically use this mask every couple of weeks. My hair endures a lot of heat from the hair dryer, so it can always use a little extra care. When using this product I shampoo and leave it in anywhere from 15-30 minutes, depending on how much time I have. This deep conditioning mask really nourishes and rehydrates my hair. After I use the product and heat style my hair, I immediately notice my hair had more life to it. My hair was extremely, soft and overall looked healthy. I genuinely believe that this mask is ideal for all hair types, even those of you with finer hair! The mask is extremely nourishing and rich, but does not way down the hair at all. I would most definitely consider this a must have in your hair care routine.

Thats a wrap! Three of my favorite products from Briogeo hair care. Overall, I am a huge fan of this brand. This brand values the needs for natural hair care and the ingredients behind it. All of their products are 6- free hair care meaning they do not contain; harsh sulfates, silicones, parabens, phthalates, DEA and synthetic color. The thorough ingredient list (including percentages of natural ingredients and the source) makes it extremely easy to know what is in your product. To make it even better, all products are cruelty free and most of them are vegan. If you are in need some natural hair care in your life, Briogeo may be the answer you are looking for.
