You have heard of the brand R&Co from your favorite salon or even recognized its eye-catching packaging on a shelf at the store. R&Co was created by editorial stylists, salon professionals, and educators to cater to your hair needs. This line for both men and women is intended to evoke a consumer experience with easy-to-use products and amazing fragrances. Not only is this line meant to make you feel something, but one of its main priorities is the health of your hair and scalp. Their products formulations are all color-safe, heat and UV protective, vegan, cruelty and gluten-free, and without harmful ingredients such as parabens, sulfates (SLS or SLES), mineral oil, and petrolatum. Easy to use products, that smell good, are cruelty-free and vegan, and focus on hair health? Sounds like an amazing product line that is worth giving a try.
I first experienced R&Co back in my salon days. This brand was one of three that we carried and quickly took over our product shelves and stylist stations. What is interesting about this line is there are a variety of ways to use these products. After all, they were created by both editorial stylists and salon stylists, which in my opinion are two completely different ways of doing hair. These products can easily be used to cater to everyday hairstyles that you would walk out of the salon with or to the edgiest of editorial styles on set. I am going to be sharing my most used and favorite products that can be found on set or in your bathroom cabinet.
High Dive is perfect for hair that needs lots of hydration and moisture. This creme, which can be doubled as a leave-in conditioner, is perfect for smooth hairstyles with no hold. Ingredients such as vitamin E, provitamin B5, sunflower seed extract, and Sodium PCA help to seal the hair while moisturizing, softening, and eliminating frizz. Use this product in towel-dried hair and apply as much as needed. You can complete your style by either blow drying or letting your hair air dry. For a smooth, sleek finish blow dry with your favorite brush or you can diffuse to let your natural curls and waves take over.
Waterfall is extremely similar to High Dive. This product is a moisture and shine lotion that works best on fine to medium hair. If you have tried High Dive in the past and found it too heavy for your hair type, give Waterfall a chance. This product contains ingredients such as babassu oil, witch hazel, rosemary, nettle, and vegetable protein. This ingredient list will leave your hair glossy, soft, and manageable without product buildup. You can style the hair the same as High Dive, by letting it air dry or using heat tools. This product can also be used on dry hair to tame those pesky baby hairs and flyaways.
Park Ave is going to be your hair dryer's best friend. This blow-out balm will leave you with a perfectly styled, smooth, and sophisticated blow-out, just like Park Avenue. Formulated with rice protein, vitamin E, pro-vitamin B5, hydrolyzed soy protein, and thermal polymer to protect hair from heat damage, build volume and leave an intense shine. Apply this product onto damp hair and use a round brush and hairdryer to create a voluminous blowout. You can use this product for curly hair blowouts as well. Simply scrunch and twist the hair while drying.
Chiffon is a lightweight styling mousse. This mousse will give you the perfect balance of hold, volume, shine, and versatility. This mousse will give you structure with a flexible body for a perfect blowout, or you can use it on more relaxed styles such as waves and curls for a natural texture. Containing ingredients such as Abyssinian oil, Black Polynesian volcanic sand, and styling polymer allow the hair to be protected against heat damage and thickens the hair. This product is best applied to towel-dried hair in sections. You can use this product to style your hair into the perfect blowout with a brush of your choice or allow this product to air dry for a more effortless look.
Mannequin is a creamy styling paste with a natural matte finish. This product is best used on medium to longer lengths of hair. You can use this paste to create texture and volume that also has a lot of flexibility. Mannequin's creamy formula makes it extremely easy to work through longer lengths of hair while still getting the styling abilities of a hair paste. You will be able to create the perfect messy supermodel hair or edgy editorial styles with this product.
Two way mirror is a lightweight smoothing oil. This product is great for all hair types and textures. A vegan weightless silicone complex, Tocopherol, Bixa Orellana seed oil, Moringa seed oil work together to soften and hydrate the hair without weighing it down. Apply this product onto wet or dry hair. Work the product in from the mid-shaft to ends in a downward motion and proceed with your normal styling routine. You can even use this product as a pick-me-up to rehydrate the hair.
Dallas is a volumizing and thickening spray for big hair. This product is perfectly paired with a hairdryer or any other hot tools. Not only does this product provide insane volume, but it also provides control on the mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Aloe leaf extract, ginger root extract, pro-vitamin B5, and amino acid complex contribute to the heat protectant, thickening, and smooth finish qualities of this product. Simply spray this product focusing mostly on your roots and throughout the rest of the hair. Blowdry your hair in sections and follow up with your favorite curling iron or roller set. You will be left with tons of volume and body with a shiny soft finish, no stiffness insight.
You always need one hair gel in the collection. Motorcycle is your flexible hold hair gel. This hair gel has the control and hold of your typical hair gel but the flexibility and shine that you would find in a hair wax or paste. Containing coconut oil, sunflower seed extract, keratin, and a heat styling conditioner help define the hair and create thickness and volume. This gel works great on both wet and dry hair. Apply on wet hair to create piece-y looking styles with a controlled hold. This method also works great on curly hair textures. Applying on dry hair ( or drying the hair with the product already in) will create intense volume with flexible hold.
Continental is a lightweight, high shine wax. This product is perfect for short hairstyles. Its water-based formula is lightweight and non-greasy with a long-lasting hold. Eucalyptus oil, Clove leaf extract, and Sage leaf extract provide strength and thicken the hair while adding dramatic shine. You can apply this product to slightly damp hair and style to your liking. You can create sleek and smooth styles or more volumized styles such as pompadours.
